The Inspiration Challenge Giveaway #2

The Inspiration Challenge

Well, I have had an extremely busy week, so I didn't actually complete the challenge this time. Yesterday I was gone pretty much all day, preparing for and attending a homeschool Ball! It was a great time, but it meant that I didn't do a last project for this week.

However, it's time for a giveaway! Here's the prize:

Thanks for participating in the giveaway everyone, and congratulations! Please email me with your mailing address, and for Jennifer, please let me know what your choice of a button badge is from Kellie Falconer Design's shop.

Pinterest Challenge ~ Giveaway!

It's been a great week, at least for me. I can't say that the challenge was popular, although I was thrilled with my last entry! Thanks Thyme Rose!

Now, about that lack of entries, I am simply curious as I ask what you thought about the challenge, and what suggestions you would have that would have made it more likely that you would have participated? Was 5 days too much? Was there not enough time to be aware of it before the challenge started? What would be a good challenge for you in this area? Please feel free to answer these questions, and any others I may not have asked, in the comments of this post.

As for me, it was a lovely challenge as far as what I had to do. I generally thrive with a goal in mind, so knowing that I was going to complete one thing every day was perfect for me. Here's a collected list of my accomplishments this week:

I did more than that even. I made this Low-Carb Cheesecake (wheat-free) that my Mom can eat (score!), as well as started on the Level One exercise challenge.

On to the giveaway!

Thankfully Rafflecopter makes giveaways super easy, so just check in with widget below in order to enter. Oh, I guess you probably do want to know what you might win, right? Of course right! (Matchmaker is now running through my head!)

From Blue Sun Emporium we have a beautiful Summer Rose Vintage Ring.

From Pleasant Places we have a Beige Stretch Lace Headband that is simply sweet.

Lastly, Kellie Falconer Design has kindly donated a button badge of the winner's choice from her shop. There is a great selection to choose from, so make sure you browse through them and pick the one you would want if you win it!

The giveaway will last for one week, at the end of which time three winners will be randomly chosen. Best wishes!

Problems with Pinterest ~ Part 2ish

I really was going to come up with another post about the junky ideas that get spread around on Pinterest, continuing on the same lines of the "feel free to be you" stuff I posted about earlier. To be honest, I can't think of anything. Not that those selfish ideas aren't out there, but I haven't come across anything lately that seemed worth writing about.

I did, however, come up with an exciting idea!

I'm sure it's been done before, but I want to host a challenge on this blog, specifically geared for Pinterest.

We all procrastinate, not only in the real work we're supposed to be doing, but even in the exciting things that we pin! When was the last time you recreated an idea from Pinterest instead of just adding new ones!

Here is the challenge.

Every day during that week, make one project from any of your boards. As long as you do one project a day, it doesn't matter if it's food, home decor, toys, or clothes.

As an additional challenge, I will be posting a linky here everyday along with my own daily creation, so you can blog about your new project and join up here to show everyone what you've made!

Finally, to make this challenge really impossible to resist, not only because it's fun and appealing to get something done for once (just kidding, right?), I'm also hosting a giveaway. It will be open to everyone, not just those who participate in the challenge, but those who did attempt it will get extra entries!

You'll want to make sure you blog about it, or post about in some other manner. Anything like Flickr, Photobucket, or even Pinterest itself will work! Just post your picture and a description and you'll be good to go!

We'll start on Monday and go through Friday. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it! So here's a couple of buttons in different sizes to help spread the word.

Blogoversary Giveaway Winners

Wow! I was fairly impressed by how many people entered, and I loved reading the responses to the survey. I thought it was fun way to do a giveaway and learn something at the same time.

It seemed like everyone mostly agreed that the things they like to read on my blog are book reviews, posts that make them think, and see pictures and quotes.

Also, the people who opted to share their age range were all in the 16-20 category. That's good to know! I know that not everybody is in that age range, but I'm guessing that most of you are.

It's time to announce the four winners of The Scarlet Pimpernel, Blogoversary Giveaway!

The first winner is:

Blogoversary Giveaway!

Just today I realized that I have been blogging on Blogger for three whole years. My Blogger blogging anniversary was last week on the 7th, and so this is a perfect excuse to hold a giveaway that I was saving for a rainy day!

I thought I would do a survey and ask a few interesting questions that might  help me with making this blog more reader friendly.

I always like filling out forms, so I assume you do too!  I'm sure you're also curious as to what you can win in this giveaway.

It's a book. Let me tell you about it!

During the Reign of Terror, there were many things that were strange or unusual. One of these oddities was the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel.  This seeming phantom of a man rescued the French nobility from the horror of the guillotine and smuggled them to England where they would be safe.

The story centers on a young French woman know as "the cleverest woman in Europe", and her husband, one of the wealthiest men in England. She does not have the married life she had hoped for, yet in the midst of her personal turmoil comes a betrayal that ends with a shocking turn of events. Who is the Scarlet Pimpernel, and what happens to the young French woman, Margurite Blakeney?

~

I first read The Scarlet Pimpernel after I received it as a gift for my 16th birthday, and ever since then it has been a favorite with me and my sister! I have even read a few of the sequels which are just as exciting as the first. If you have read the first book, definitely try to look up some of the sequels.

As an exciting gift to you, I have four used, paperback copies of The Scarlet Pimpernel to giveaway! They are in excellent condition, with only a black mark through the bar code on the back.

Yes, four copies! That means four readers get to win this wonderful adventure for their own libraries!

Northanger Abbey Winner!

Northanger Abbey Giveaway

Well, it was a rather small turnout for the giveaway, but that made your chance of winning even better! Right?

Also, I'm sorry for being several days late on posting the winner. My laptop died last week, so I'm having to dodge in and use my Mum's whenever I get a chance. For future reference, posts will probably be sporadic at best, which includes the Capture Challenge.

Anyhoo, on to the winner! The blessed participant who gets to find this lovely book in the mail...

Northanger Abbey

...is...

Jenoelle! Congratulations! I will be contacting you shortly about this.

Thanks also to all of the other people who participated. I appreciated reading all of your answers about what you have learned this summer.

I would love to have more giveaways in the future, so be sure to stick around.

Northanger Abbey Giveaway!

I had been going to do a giveaway on my blog when I reached 50 followers, but then I moved and that bumped my followers way back. I just found out thought that I now have 25 followers, and since 25 is half of 50 I thought it would be the perfect excuse!

Northanger Abbey

I wish I could say it was signed by the author, but since that is next to impossible I'll just have to tell you that it is a darling, diminutive volume, only a few inches (approx. 6 1/8"x4") in length and width. It is perfect for slipping into your handbag.

Northanger Abbey Again

So, do you agree with me that it is a sweet book and you must add it to your library? Fabulous! Let's get to work!

Mandatory Entry
Leave a comment on this post and tell me something that you have learned this summer
(even though summer has just started!).

Optional entry
Optional is meaning you don't have to do it if you don't want to or feel like it! Don't worry, it won't hurt my feelings if you don't!
Simply add this button to your blog sidebar, leave a comment saying that you've done it, and that's it!

Northanger Abbey Giveaway

This giveaway will run from today, to July 12, when I will use a random number generator to discover the winner!

Summer Splash Blog Party!

Lucia is having a fun blog party, and since she always gives away fabulous prizes, and I love the blog button (see below!), I thought I would join in the fun. :)

What are two songs that describe you?
Well, at the moment I feel like "When will my life begin" from the movie Tangled, is fairly accurate, and "He's Still Workin' on Me" by the Booher Brothers.

What do you most fear?
As silly as it sounds, I think that what I most fear is being a failure, or being unliked. The good news is that I have a Heavenly Father that I can trust in, and what He thinks is all that matters.

What color(s) dominate(s) your wardrobe? White and blue.
It's a fairly varied mix, with white, blue, green, pink, and other lovely colors in between.

How do you normally do you hair?
In a braid, in a bun, in a knot held with a flexi-clip. It all depends.

Do you prefer milkshakes or smoothies?
MILKSHAKES! Right now my favorite is the Rollo McFlurry from McDonalds. Not the healthiest treat in the world, but for some reason I've been really craving it.

Do you like the color pink?
Yes and no. I've decided that I probably shouldn't wear pink, but I think it's a beautiful color for blog templates.

What is your favorite flower?
Hmm, this one is kind of tough. I think my favorites is pretty much anything that is yellow.

How many states have you been to?

I have visited 15 states! (30%)
Create your own visited map of The United States

What is your favorite thing about June?
The sun!!!

Describe your "dream wedding location."
I don't really have a "dream wedding location". There have been places that I have thought "That would be a beautiful place for a wedding!", but there has never been anywhere that I dreamed about for my wedding. Not to mention I change my mind so often, in a few months my answer might be different!

My Umbrella is Full Giveaway!

I am absolutely in love with things that are being given away to celebrate Miss Lucia having reached 100 followers.  I know how important a milestone like that would be for me, since it will be a LONG time before I reach it. Perhaps I should start planning an awesome giveaway now!

In any case, you all should run over there and check her blog out, because it is very cute, because there are beautiful products to win from talented Etsy shop owners, and even just because the button link itself inspires.  I don't know, these may not be the reasons Miss Lucia was looking for, but then consider these as more added benefits for following one cute blog.
