Country Cottage Inspiration

I've been rearranging my room lately, trying to finally get it the way I want, but I've been having a hard time deciding what I really want. I'm definitely leaning toward some kind of cottage-like feel, so to inspire myself, I created this Etsy Treasury, full of cottage style goodness! Enjoy!

Plus, here's some great DIY links that will show you how to make your own cottage style!  I'm going to have to try some of these...

  1. Burlap and Lace Pillow
  2. "Vintage" Sheet Music Bunting Banner
  3. "Vintage" Bunting
  4. "Old" Signs
  5. Bird Nest Necklace - I know this isn't necessarily home decor (depending on how you look at it!), but it was too cute to pass up. Just to prove it to you, here's a picture of the one that I made!

If you know of any good vintage-y or cottage style tutorials, let me know! I've got my eyes open to find some good ones!

Shops, Birds, Tea, and Valentines

I have been busy.  I know that's a pretty lame way to start a post, but it's true.  The past month has been full of exciting and happy things and projects, and I'll share a few of them with you.

Painting Hearts

The small one and I were well prepared for Valentines Day.  The only problem was that we forgot to hand out the Valentines that we had so painstakingly worked on.  Oh well.  Belated Valentines all around!  I followed a tutorial for Valentine Scratch Cards and I loved it!  It turned out they were a little hard to scratch, but I think they were a general hit.

Because I love you tea

My dear cousin hosted a "Because I love you" party for us.  We all got dressed up in our finest dresses, and she was a lovely hostess with lovely dainties for us to nibble on, and delightful games for us to enjoy.  Definitely a fun time.

Birds

One of our recent Sunday School lessons was on the "Do not worry" passage.  We made little flowers of the field and came up with a finger puppet pattern for the little birds of the air.  They were very popular, and I hope to post a tutorial for the little birdies soon.

Classic Kniterature avie

One more exciting thing...I have finally got the banner/header/theme for Classic Kniterature!  I'd really love it if you went over there to check it out, and let me know what you think. Hopefully I'll be getting to work on the actual inventory of the shop soon, so don't give up on me yet!

Anyway, thanks for hanging around!  Have a great day!

Introducing Classic Kniterature!

Everyone, I would like to introduce you to what has been filling my days these last week.  I have thought about, pondered upon, and dreamed for this for longer than that, and now I am finally (hopefully!) putting some of those ideas into action.

I would like to present to you, Classic Kniterature.  My shop and blog where I plan on selling some of my handknits, as well as my own handknit designs.  The link goes to the blog, which you can find at http://www.classickniterature.com.  There is not a link to the shop just yet, since there is nothing for sale in the shop, but whenever there are updates, and such, you can find them over at the blog.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, quotes, or anything awesome to put in this post to help advertise.  I'm slowly working on that, but these things take time.

So basically, I just wanted to make you guys aware of what I was up to, so you can follow the updates over at Classic Kniterature, and start getting excited for things to come!

My Umbrella is Full Giveaway!

I am absolutely in love with things that are being given away to celebrate Miss Lucia having reached 100 followers.  I know how important a milestone like that would be for me, since it will be a LONG time before I reach it. Perhaps I should start planning an awesome giveaway now!

In any case, you all should run over there and check her blog out, because it is very cute, because there are beautiful products to win from talented Etsy shop owners, and even just because the button link itself inspires.  I don't know, these may not be the reasons Miss Lucia was looking for, but then consider these as more added benefits for following one cute blog.

Etsy Treasuries and Minis

I was going to post a treasury that I spent all day working on, only to discover (isn't 'discover' such a cool word?) that I either don't know how, or it's not possible.  Bummer.  Instead, I can give you a link to the list of Really Cool Things to Buy Dad.  This treasury is based off of all the items that I thought were kind of cool, but probably would never buy my own father.  Sad, but true!  I'm sure someone else's Dad would enjoy things of this sort, so definitely go take a look!

Also, to make up for a lack of the fabulous treasury linked to above, I'll show you some of my most recent favorites on that smorgasbord of homemade items, Etsy.
